“Laguna Beach”, Fixx microdermabrasion, The Present for Motives
Hi everyone! I’m teaming up with @ohuckleberry to bring you this fun and fabulous makeup giveaway! Yay! Cue cheering! Free makeup! Hurrah!
Over the years I’ve gotten a lot of questions about my makeup routine / favourite products. These questions are especially frequent on my Formspring which I hardly ever use anymore…but that’s besides the point. I figured this would be a prime opportunity to not only share my favourite makeup-y type things with y’all, but also give a selection of my favourite products to one of you for free!

What you have to do:
Simply make a shop.com account (click SIGN IN at the top right & then refer to the screenshot) via THIS link: shop.com/shoptoronto. You MUST go through this link, otherwise we have no way to track if you made an account or not! At the end of the month, one name will be drawn out of a hat / another device with the same kind of purpose, and a winner will be chosen! What is Shop.com?:
Shop.com is basically a portal that gathers a whole bunch of products from a variety of online sources so you can browse competitive prices / earn various percentages of cash back when you make a purchase. Some partner stores are Urban Outfitters, ASOS and Topshop, so if you shop with any of them to begin with, purchasing through your Shop.com portal entitles you to $$$ in da bankz that you wouldn’t normally get by shopping through a direct link to the website. Honestly, it’s really a win/win situation if you’re a big online shopper…and if you don’t believe me you can like look it up or something. I’m probably doing a really bad job at explaining it.
Really bad video of me trying to articulate myself. Watch if you must.
1) Motives luxe precision eyeliner:
I’ve used a lot of liquid eyeliners in my day. And I mean, like, a lot. Pretty much since I started wearing makeup, liquid eyeliner has always been my #1. It’s probably because it’s the easiest thing to apply when you’re in a hurry and need some black shit around your eyes, but it’s also a great way to add ~visual interest~ to your face without going overboard with sparkly shit up to your eyebrows. I’ve been using this eyeliner by Motives for about 1.5 months now, and I honestly have to say it’s one of the best ones I’ve come across. Before this, I was using the Sephora brand liquid eyeliner, but I found that it smudged a lot throughout the day because my eyelids got oily or something. The best liner that I’ve used is that ubiquitous Stila one, but at like $26 a pop it’s really hard for me to justify. For $14, I think Motives gives you the best bang for your buck. If there’s anything you might consider buying, definitely go for this one!!! Well worth it.
2) Fixx lash extend:
If you’re blessed with short and stubby Asian eyelashes, (ha ha sarcasm), I’m sure mascara has been your best friend up until now. Well! Look no further! This lash extender serum by Fixx did the trick for me! It’s not a dramatic, miracle, O M G difference, but I can definitely tell my lashes are longer and a bit fuller; and that’s good enough. If you’re not Asian, I don’t know how well this would work on you…but I’m sure it’s worth a shot! Lol! I am so enthusiastic!!!!! But really, I’ve never really made any other attempt to lengthen my lashes, so I wouldn’t be able to do a brand comparison with this product. But for the price, this one is worth a try if you’re interested in modifying your eyelashes.
3) Motives nail candy:
Benson picked the colours of these nail polishes. There are other colours to choose from that are potentially more fun, but I lied to him and said he picked the best ones. Haha, anyway, I typically use American Apparel and Essie polishes because I like the colours a lot, but the Motives ones are reasonably priced and good quality…so it’s kind of a tossup. I have so much nail polish to begin with though, I feel like my opinion isn’t even valid when it comes to the legitimacy of them. I have both of the colours I’m giving away, and I’ve worn them both on numerous occasions. “Her Majesty” goes on a lot darker than it looks, and is closer to a…really dark and rich plum…rather than a super bright purple.
4) Fixx microdermabrasion:
I’ve been using St. Ives apricot scrub for the longest time, but I recently tried this microdermabrasion scrub out as per a friend’s suggestion, and it’s kind of hard for me to go back to my trusty $6 tub of apricot fun. This one by Fixx is kind of on the steep side, and being El Cheapo McGee, I don’t know if I would ever be willing to spend this kind of money on my own accord, but for one of you it is FREE so don’t complain and just go with it. Or you know, if you have $25 lying around I would definitely suggest you try it out because you really, honestly, truly, do get glowing skin like Edward Cullen! I know everyone secretly wants to be Edward Cullen!
5) The Present for Motives – Smokey Nights
As per the title suggests, this is ~The Present~ and is ~the best present~ ~you can ever get~ ~for someone who likes makeup~. I, myself, got it as a birthday gift and have thoroughly enjoyed it. I don’t really use the eyeshadow bits because I am emotionally attached / in love with Urban Decay’s Naked Palette, but the lipgloss colours are really smooth & pigmented, and the blush and bronzer duo rivals the Physicians Formula stuff I have lying around.
Disclaimer:
Just to put this out there, I am not getting compensated in any which way for promoting this stuff. Like, I had to buy my own Motives makeup & Fixx eyelash extender!!! And one of you guys is getting it for free!!! No hostility here, I’m just sayin’……….
